Despite winning the Europa League for the first time in 41 years...Tottenham ultimately dismiss Postecoglou as "unanimous board of directors"

Son Heung-min's team Tottenham eventually replaced coach Anji Postecoglou, who led the UEFA Europa League (UEL) championship for the first time in 41 years.

Tottenham announced on its official website on the 7th (Korea Standard Time), "We dismissed Coach Postecoglou after performance evaluation and in-depth review." 먹튀검증

Tottenham credited Postecoglou with reviving his aggressive football style and becoming the third coach in the club's history to win a European trophy, but said, "But the board decided unanimously (to change) because it was time for change for the club's benefit."
Tottenham pointed out that it has achieved serious performance in the English Premier League (EPL) for two consecutive years.

"We started positively in the early stages of the EPL in the 2023-2024 season, but only gained 78 points in 66 recent EPL games, and recorded the worst performance in EPL history in the 2024-2025 season," the club said. "Winning the Europa League is one of the club's greatest moments, but we couldn't make a decision that was only focused on winning. We should be able to compete for the top ranks in more moments through changes in the next season."

British media reported that Thomas Frank, who leads Brentford, is on the list to replace Postecoglou.

The BBC said on the same day, "Tottenham is interested in Brentford's coach Frank."

Frank promoted Brentford to the EPL in 2021, and Brentford ranked 10th in the EPL in the 2024-2025 season. Analysts say he is the opposite of Postecoglou in that he operates flexible tactics depending on the opponent team.

Also on the list were Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola, Crystal Palace coach Oliver Glasner and Fulham coach Marco Silva. Rumors were raised that Mauricio Pochettino of the U.S. national team will return to the team along with Simone Inchigi, who was recently appointed as Saudi Al-Hilal coach, and Eddie Howe, who is leading Newcastle United.
